पत्तों पर अटकी हैं शबनमी बूंदे

सहमी हैं ...और बेचैन भी

डरतीं हैं-

पलकों पे अटके आंसुओं की तरह

कहीं ढलक ना जाएँ ...

बाहुपाश में थाम बवंडर वक़्त के

उड़ने दो परिंदों को हवाओं में-

बैखोफ़ !

खोयी उम्मीदों की

अनवरत जुस्तजू में ...

चुरा आसमानों से उड़ा ले आओ

घनी घनघोर घटाओं को-

मुझ तक !

और

गुमा दो मुझे बादलों के कजियारे में ...

इठलाने दो चंचल तितलियों को

उड़ने दो बागों में फैला पंख

मसरूफ़ हैं वो -

रंगबिरंगी ख्वाहिशों की

बेतरतीब उड़ानों में ...

गुज़रो धीमे धीमे मेरे दिल की

गमज़दा गुज़रगाहों से

गुनगुनाओ राग सतरंगी

भीगा दो दिल को

आसमानी बूंदों की बौछारों में ...

वक़्त की शिराओं में बहो प्राणवायु बन

युगों को लाँघ आसमानों से परे

उड़ा ले जाओ-

शबनमी बूंदों सी बेचैन

अंतहीन इंतज़ार की

यह अतृप्त प्यास ...
