स्वयं का लापता पता

कुछ सफ़र दुरूह होते हैं,
या शायद ऐसे लगते हैं।
कुछ गंतव्य अप्राप्य होते हैं,
या शायद वैसे लगते हैं।
स्वयं तक पहुँचने के अथक क्रम में,
धूल-धूसरित चक्रव्यूही मार्ग-
शहरों, गली-मोहल्लों, रिश्ते-नातों,
यश, वर्चस्व और आत्म-दंभ में
नाहक ही गंतव्य तलाशते रहते हैं।
स्वयं का पता—
लापता हो गया लगता है,
मायावी कुहासे में—
अदृश्य हो गया लगता है।
सफ़र में थके मन अक्सर -
एक छद्म संसार बसाते हैं,
उसे गंतव्य होने का -
मिथ्या विश्वास दिलाते हैं
और हमें अंतहीन चक्रव्यूह में उलझाते हैं।
स्वयं तक पहुँचना—
क्या ख़ुद का ख़ुद तक लौटना नहीं?
क्या यह आत्मबोध नहीं?
क्या यह -
ब्रह्मांड की शाश्वत चेतना का अंश नहीं?
क्या सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्मांड ही स्वयं का पता नहीं?
क्यों न इस धूल-धूसरित मार्ग को,
निर्मल हृदय के दिव्य आलोक से,
प्रकाशित कर स्वयं तक पहुँचें
और ख़ुद में ब्रह्मनाद को सुनें?
दृष्टि साफ़ हो तो मार्ग सुगम,
सफ़र सहज
और गंतव्य प्राप्य होगा ही।

The poem circles around the idea that the self (स्वयं) we're searching for was never lost—only obscured. The journey to reach oneself is full of dust and detours—cities, relationships, fame, dominance, ego (यश, वर्चस्व, आत्म-दंभ)—distractions in which we keep searching for the self (स्वयं). In the tiredness of that search, the mind often builds a false world and mistakes it for the destination, trapping itself in an endless माया of seeking.
The poem then explores : reaching oneself is nothing but returning to oneself—self-awareness, a fragment of the universe's eternal consciousness (ब्रह्मांड की शाश्वत चेतना). If the whole universe is one's address, the destination was never elsewhere. Clear the dust from the path with a pure heart's light, hear the ब्रह्मनाद within, and the way opens on its own—when sight is clear, the path is clear, and the destination was always within reach.
