जो बात कहनी थी
वो कभी कही नहीं
चुप्पी बन-मगर वो ठहर गई
वक़्त की शाख़ पर
अंतहीन रात सी..
दर्द के सुरों में-पगती रही
ख़्यालों की धुंध में-झाँकती रही
उम्रभर, अल्फ़ाज़ों में-
आशियाना तलाशती रही
वो कहीं खोई नहीं..
जो बात हमने कही नहीं
तुमने भी वो सुनी नहीं
पर वो कहीं गई नहीं
चुप्पी के आशियाने में
ठहरी है-वक़्त की शाख़ पर
आज भी-
अंतहीन रात सी..
वो बात जो हमने कही नहीं..
