परिंदों की बेख़ौफ़ उड़ान

ज़ालिम कितना ही हो ज़माना,

कितने ही क्यों न करे वो सितम—

कहाँ रोक सकेगा सरहदों पार

परिंदों की बेख़ौफ़ उड़ान।

आँधियाँ पूरी ताक़त से

राहों पर धूल उड़ाएँगी,

हौसलों के पंखों को लेकिन

दीवारें कहाँ रोक पाएँगी।

उजड़ेगी बगिया और

गुलशन होंगे वीरान यहाँ,

पछताएगा मगरूर माली-

बहार कहीं गर ठहर जाएगी।

इतिहास गवाह है—

दौर-ए-ज़ुल्म कभी ठहरता नहीं,

उड़ान भर ले तू , परिंदे—

थाम सके जो तुझे,

ज़ज़्बा वो ज़माने में नहीं।
