पत्तों में सरसराहट हुई है

सूरज भी पेड़ों से छनकर आया है

मुबारक हो दोस्तों

नया साल आया है |

छोड़ भी दो हठ

उतारो उदासियों के ये लिबास

उम्मीदों के

नए सिलसिले वो लाया है |

कंपकपाती सर्द सुबह है

ओस अटकी है पत्तों पर

जरा देखो तो बाहर

जज़्बातों की गर्माहट लाया है |

छोड़ो रुदन संताप का

चहक रहे हैं परिंदे

सुनो तो सही

संगीत प्यार का लाया है |

चढ आया है सूरज

और चाँद भी अभी गया नहीं

पढ़ने की कोशिश करो

पैगाम-ए-अमन वो लाया है |

गुल है गुलशन

फैली खुशबू फिजा में है

महसूस करो

दौरे मुहब्बत साथ लाया है |

दस्तक देता है कोई

खोलो दरवाजा-

छोड़ो रात की खुमारी

देखो नया साल आया है |

नए साल में नई सुबह

लिखेगी एक नई तारीख

आओ करें इस्तकबाल

नया साल आया है |
