ज़रूरी नहीं कि तुम याद करो
मुझे भुला भी कहाँ पाओगी
बेशक लबों से ना बयान करो
जज़्बातों को आँखों से-
ना छुपा पाओगी
फ़ासला कितना ही रखा करो
अपनी खुशबू को हवाओं से -
कैसे ही बचाओगी
हवा मे ख़ामोश ख़ुमारी बहुत है
अगर ना चाहो तो भी-
बहक ही जाओगी
टंगे हें जो हसीन लम्हे
गुज़रे वक़्त की शाखों पर
उन्हें क्या कभी-
तोड़ पाओगी
कल का बरसा सावन
आज़ भी अटका है पेड़ों पर
कर लो कोशिश कितनी -
पर भीग ही जाओगी
अक्स तुम्हारा देखा था
एक अरसा पहले
उसे तुम धुंधला भी -
कहाँ कर पाओगी
बिल्कुल ज़रूरी नहीं
तुम साथ ही चलो
यादों की गलियों में मगर -
कहीं मिल ही जाओगी
खुदी हो मेरे हाथ की लकीरों में
नसीब की तरह
इन लकीरों को अब-
कहाँ ही बदल पाओगी
और फिर घुली हो मेरे वज़ूद में
एक ख़्याल की तरह
अब क्या ही-
निकल पाओगी
ज़रूरी नहीं कि तुम याद करो
